How To Add a Light ANYWHERE – no electrical needed!
Have you ever wanted to add a light somewhere- wether it be for actual lighting purposes, or even just more for looks- but you don’t have electrical in that spot?! Calling an electrician to have it ran is a whole project itself… plus, that can get costly. So, we wanted to share with you our little DIY hack for adding a light fixture that actually produces light, without electrical!
We had been eyeing allll the gooseneck light fixtures, but wanted to try this on a budget. So, we picked up this outdoor light fixture on marketplace for $15! But truthfully, Amazon has a pretty amazing deal on this two pack of indoor gooseneck wall sconces. You can’t beat TWO lights for $49! I may still have to order these for another room!
Alright back to the hack- all you’ll need is:
- your light fixture
- some metal wire
- a puck light
Guys, it’s really this simple! We ran some wire from a hole where the lightbulb normally goes, through the the hole on the puck light… and ta da! That’s really it! These puck lights from Amazon are ahh-mazing, because not only are there 3 modes, but it comes with a REMOTE CONTROL for dimming and to put them on a timer! 6 lights for $15 is better than any store I could find.
Next, we cut the wires from the back of the light fixture since we never plan to actually use this light with electrical. However, you could totally just tuck them in. And install to your wall as normal!
That’s it, that’s our hack… PUCK LIGHTS instead of light bulbs for the no electrical necessary light fixture hack!
